If anyone is curious about Muqarnas generation and modelling. This video goes into the construction methods and modelling.
I had an undergrad prof who, some 20y ago, wrote his thesis on the same subject but he did all the math and drawings by hand then programmed some digital visualizations in FormZ. Was very neat to see and not that different from the video.
