NEW ORLEANS SUSTAINABLE DESIGN COMPETITION ANNOUNCED Check here
GLOBAL GREEN USA AND BRAD PITT CALL FOR ENTRIES IN NEW ORLEANS SUSTAINABLE DESIGN COMPETITION
Of the many ways Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, none is clearer than the storms assault on the citys neighborhoods. Eight months after the disaster, more than half of New Orleans remains empty, mile after mile of abandoned houses, shops, offices, schools, and churches. The promise of federal aid remains largely that a promise, and local and state authorities are struggling to produce plans for the citys future.
Competition sponsors Global Green and Brad Pitt have as their goal the generation of ideas for sustainable redevelopment in New Orleans, redevelopment that will encourage livable cities everywhere and discourage the consumption of non-renewable resources; redevelopment that will help lower their dependence on fossil fuels and their byproducts; redevelopment that will lead New Orleans to a position of prominence in the area of sustainable development and thus help recapture its reputation as a place of innovation and leadership.
New Orleans is one of the worlds great cities, home to a culture of invention that has seeded the nations music, literature, cooking, art, and business. Sustainable development can be the citys next great contribution to American and world culture. Your work in this competition starts that process in motion.

I'd like to know more about the competition without spending a $100 dollars. Does anyone have a copy of the competition brief to post?
These competition organizers really ought to have the jury lined up when they announce the competition... especially when registration periods are so short.
