In April 2005 Imrey Culbert in joint venture with SANAA of Tokyo was selected among over 300 international teams to participate in a competition for a new satellite museum of the Louvre to be located in Lens, France...
Imrey Culbert and SANAA are competing with five other international teams that include: Zaha Hadid Architects, Steven Holl Architects, Rudy Ricciotti, Lacton &Vassal Architects, and Jerome De Aluza Architecture.
The above teams have completed their design submissions as of August 12, 2005. The winning design will be announced on September 26, 2005.
As associate architects and museographers, Imrey Culbert established the global team consisting of: SANAA (principal architects); Mosbach Paysagistes (landscape architects); Bureau Michel Forgue (economist), ARUP (lighting); Transolar, Hubert Penicaud, Betom, B & G, and Sasaki (engineers).
SANAA and Imrey Culbert currently are working together on the Toledo Museum of Art’s Glass Pavilion which will open in spring 2006.
