Today we are continuing Get Lectured with a look at three speakers who will be visiting the Cal Poly College of Architecture and Environmental Design in San Luis Obispo this semester.
The CAED shares: “The 2024/25 Hearst Lectures is a series of discussions with designers, activists and professionals of the built environment whose work interrogate ecological, societal and material crisis. URGENCIES is a project that was organized to motivate conversations across the five CAED departments. Students and faculty are invited to participate in a conversation about how the built environment is interdependent on structures of power, colonization and extraction, with the hope that we can envision alternative futures together.”
Lecturers include Dan Koch of Allied Works (November 1); California College of the Arts professor Janette Kim (November 8); and botanist Peter Del Tredici of Harvard University (November 15).
