Archinectors got to be the judge in voting for their favorite architecture lecture series posters from the Fall 2017 term, as previously featured in our ongoing series Get Lectured. The results are now in! The IE School of Architecture and Design won by a landslide with 255 votes. Coming in second place was the University of Virginia with 108 votes, the New York Institute of Technology got third with 61 votes, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign placed in fourth with 50 votes.

Comments from voters were mixed. Some people appreciated the “great range and diversity” of the poster designs, while others enthusiastically described the posters as “rambunctiously beautiful!” and “generally eye-catching”.
“I like the ones that do an actual retake on how to convey information in a manner that is visually attractive and also has content that explains the purpose of the communication,” one commenter wrote.
On the flip side, some readers thought many of the posters were over-designed or fell short on legibility. As one commenter pointed out, “The purpose of the poster is to draw someone in and also be easily legible. Many of the posters may pull you in, but they are almost impossible to read. What is the point of having an interesting design if you can't get any information from it?”
