OMA has broken ground on its new Miami Beach development called The Perigon. The project from partner Jason Long at 5333 Collins Avenue will reach a height of 17 floors when it first opens to residents in late 2026.
A total of 73 one- and two-bedroom residences are included, oriented around creating ocean vistas and including about 20,000 square feet of amenities spaces highlighted by a speakeasy and the latest restaurant concept from celebrity chef Shaun Hergatt.
A double-height entry lobby welcomes residents to the building’s other features, including a conservatory space, film screening room, beach club, and 82-foot swimming pool. The building is conceived as a series of small rotated “towers.” The vistas are referencing European Riviera-style resort designs, reflected again in interiors designed by Tara Bernerd & Partners.
Viewed from the outside, its singular form is defined by 10- to 12-foot terraces that cascade down to an opened-up base lifted 40 feet above the flood line at either end. A landscaped portion designed by Gustafson Porter + Bowman finally completes the project. This will be the firm’s third project in the Miami area after completing both Park Grove and the Faena Forum in 2019 and 2016, respectively.

Meh. And, as usual, the big-name architect is somehow good enough to be trumpeted in the marketing materials but not allowed to do the interiors that the buyers actually inhabit. If you really like OMA, buy a unit in the cheaper building next door where you can look at this one outside your window.
Rem has checked out, it seems
I mean he retired from OMA years ago. Doing his own speculative work very much separate from OMA at this point.
1.Bland speculative exercise with no depth.
2.Have you seen their single family house in austria? Shame they left them build that in its context.
