The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa has shared the Spring 2024 lectures and events taking place at its School of Architecture this semester as part of our Get Lectured roundup of public programming.
Last semester saw an appearance from Kyung-Hoon Hyun preceded a late visit from Shigeru Ban, who came to campus as part of his Voluntary Architects’ Network contribution to recovery efforts in the wake of wildfires that devastated parts of Maui in early August.
Events this semester begin on February 15 with Billie Tsien, one-half of the New York-based founding duo Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects (TWBTA), who will likely discuss the firm’s work on seminal projects around the mainland, including the presidential library it is designing for Barack Obama in Chicago. She is followed on February 22 by Harvard GSD design critic in landscape architecture, Kotchakorn Voraakhom. Finally, the Spring term concludes with a visit from Technische Universität München professor and Managing Director of Transsolar, Thomas Auer.
