Get Lectured is our semesterly look at the different events and lectures happening at architecture schools across the country. Today, our tour takes us to the Elm City for a look at what’s happening at the Yale School of Architecture this fall.
Recent Soane Medalist Marina Tabassum visits campus on Monday, September 11, for a look at her firm’s nonprofit work in Bangladesh. Writer Mark Lamster follows her on September 21 with the Brendan Gill Memorial Lecture. The Fall 2023 Louis I. Kahn Visiting Assistant Professor Chat Travieso will then present a lecture on October 5, preceding Sir Isaac Julien's conversation with professors Esther da Costa Meyer and Sunil Bald on October 23.
The month continues on October 26 with Paolo Tombesi’s Gordon H. Smith Lecture in Practical Architecture on the 50th anniversary of the Sydney Opera House. He is followed by Ana María Durán Calisto’s lecture "Dien Dien and the Civilized Agroecological Forests of Amazonia" on November 2. Nona Yehia’s 2023 Keynote for the Hybrid Urban Factory symposium comes next on November 9. Finally, the semester culminates with Ph.D. program director Joan Ockman’s George Morris Woodruff, Class of 1857, Memorial Lecture "Toward a Political Ecology of Architecture" on November 16.
