I don't think anyone will be getting into China anytime soon (for work). I had to leave Beijing in December because I couldn't extend my visa (business) from within the country during the pandemic. I left my job, but accepted a new one in Shanghai. This required me to start a new process for a work visa from the US. After 6 months of getting all of my documents certified at the local, county, state and federal level, then authenticated by a Chinese Consulate, I was turned down at the PU letter stage of the process, which is new step created for the pandemic. I have yet to meet a foreign architect who was able to get the PU letter. I've been told that getting into the country to work, to get a PU letter, is nearly impossible right now...especially with the covid variants showing up. There are exceptions I'm sure, but I just want people applying to these Chinese positions to be aware that they could waste months and hundreds up to a thousand bucks in visa preparation only to be turned down for the PU letter.
This is good information, thank you.
Good information. It seems like the Chinese are doing what the US and other western countries have been doing to immigrants for decades. Siphon huge amounts of money for complicated procedures and then deny visas...
