Following Archinect's recent coverage of sustainable design practices this week we have selected nine firms who are seeking to hire candidates with strong backgrounds in sustainable design, analysis and research, LEED documentation, and green construction guidelines.
STUDIOS Architecture seeks a Project Architect
Location: Los Angeles, CA
The ideal candidate will be able to develop designs with understanding of building systems, sustainability requirements, accessibility and code compliance for solutions that are unique and engaging while tailored to client’s vision and project requirements. Experience in LEED documentation and certification, space programming, space planning, workplace strategy, entitlements, planning approvals, and other relevant facets of commercial architecture and planning are desirable. License or LEED Accreditation or pursuit of license and LEED accreditation is desired.
Steinberg Hart seeks a Specification Writer/Specialist
Location: San Diego, CA
For 65 years, Steinberg Hart has been shaping environments and creating inspiring places through an idea driven, results-oriented approach to design. The firm comprises of a team of architects, designers, planners and sustainability experts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining firmwide technical information resources and play a key role in supporting project teams and utilizing current information technology to maximize use of BIM. Must be a California Licensed Architect and Certified Construction Specifier (CCS). Candidates with LEED AP preferred.
William McDonough + Partners seeks an Architectural Research Lead
Location: Charlottesville, VA
The firm seeks a candidate to work in integrating Cradle to Cradle Design™ concepts in the built environment. Candidates will be involved in sustainable strategy identification and goal setting, third-party certification documentation (C2C, WELL, LEED etc), climate analysis and project performance analysis. A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Design, Architecture, Interior Design or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in the sustainability field

Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill LLP (SOM) seeks a Sustainability Specialist
Location: San Francisco, CA
The ideal candidate will be involved in multiple architectural design teams focused primarily on studies related to building performance and sustainability. Perform technical analysis for projects that are pursuing LEED, Net Zero Building Certification, WELL Building, or other applicable certifications specific to building locale. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental design, architecture or other related field. LEED Accreditation is preferred.

Perkins Eastman is seeking an experienced sustainability professional who is passionate about design and sustainability. The Firmwide sustainability team focuses on sustainability efforts including the education of staff, reporting on sustainability metrics, the development of sustainability resources, greening the firm’s operations, and creating a case for sustainability for all of Perkins Eastman’s clients. The team also supports research initiatives related to sustainability, including measurements of indoor environmental quality factors. A bachelor or Master Degree in Sustainability, Architecture, interior design, Urban Planning, or a related field. At least one built-environment specific degree is required.
Populous seeks a Project Manager
Location: Norman, OK
The ideal candidate should have an understanding and proficiency in architectural modeling, parametric design, advanced project delivery methods, drawing software and production a strong plus. Have advanced knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines. Must also have a strong knowledge of design, construction methodology and material application. LEED not required, but a plus. Accredited graduate degree in urban planning and a landscape degree/credential is desired.
HLW seeks a Sustainability Analyst
Location: New York, NY
This individual will be responsible for supporting environmental aspects of projects. This work will include certifications and custom solutions and will also support the development and expansion of the Sustainability and Wellness Department’s research and marketing goals. The Sustainability Analyst will work independently on project work and alongside the Director of Sustainability and Wellness and Senior Sustainability Analyst on internal and external efforts including training and marketing. Provide support and guidance on commercial interiors and base building projects pursuing custom sustainability as well as certification systems including LEED, WELL, Fitwel, and Living Building Challenge.
