Our New York office is looking for a Sustainability Analyst to join our global Sustainability team. This individual will be responsible for supporting environmental aspects of projects. This position is an opportunity for a motivated individual to work hand-in-hand with design teams to influence how projects are conceived, designed, and constructed. This work will include certifications and custom solutions and will also support the development and expansion of the Sustainability and Wellness Department’s research and marketing goals. The Sustainability Analyst will work independently on project work and alongside the Director of Sustainability and Wellness and Senior Sustainability Analyst on internal and external efforts including training and marketing.  

A Sustainability Analyst is a trusted collaborator on project teams and for the people of HLW. This individual will report to the Director of Sustainability and Wellness and indirectly to Studio Leads, Partners and Principals (who oversee the larger scopes of work in which projects are embedded).

Job Responsibilities 

· Provide support and guidance on commercial interiors and base building projects pursuing custom sustainability as well as certification systems including LEED, WELL, Fitwel, and Living Building Challenge 

· Work with senior team members within project teams while liaising with other members of HLW design studios and business groups in the course of project delivery 

· Work within large project teams of external consultants 

· Global sustainability support for offices in Los Angeles, New Jersey, Connecticut, London, and Shanghai. 

· Contribute to internal training and awareness raising 

· Support the development of tools, trend reports, white papers, case studies, blog posts or other related materials for HLW research and marketing efforts

Role Qualifications 

· Degree in architecture, interior design, environmental design or a related discipline. 

· 2+ years of professional experience in sustainability consulting. 

· LEED AP with specialty (ID+C or BD+C) accreditation required. 

· Experience in completing documentation for certification systems, specifically LEED v3 and v4 in ID+C and BD+C. Experience with the WELL, Fitwel, Living Building Challenge, Passive House, Sites, or other third-party rating systems is a plus. 

· Excellent communication, graphic and verbal presentation skills. 

· Versatility with computer graphics software including but not limited to AutoCAD / Revit, energy modeling software (i.e. Formit, Sefaira…), Adobe CS Programs, MS Office Suite, and material databases (i.e. UL Spot, Pharos…).
