May also brought the announcement of the release of ED #2, Archinect's own publication focused on the theme of Disaster exploring the myriad disasters afflicting the present, probing the responsibilities and agencies of architecture within them.

Andrés Jaque appointed as Columbia GSAPP's new Director of Advanced Architectural Design Program
Columbia GSAPP Dean Amale Andraos announced that Andrés Jaque would be the new director of the school's Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design program, effective June 1, 2018. As founder of the Office for Political of Innovation and a teacher of advanced design studios at GSAPP since 2013, Jaque will succeed Associate Professor Enrique Walker, who has directed the program since 2008.

Sarah Deyong, associate professor at Texas A&M University, was announced as the new Architecture Program director with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s College of Architecture.
Amid major campus expansion, CCA announces Keith Krumwiede as new Dean of Architecture
The California College of the Arts announced Keith Krumwiede as the school's new Dean of Architecture. Beginning in August 2018, Krumwiede will be took over duties from Lisa Findley, who had been serving as Interim Dean since Jonathan Massey left to head the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning at University of Michigan back in August of 2017.
Lingqian Hu elected as new chair of UWM Department of Urban Planning
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Architecture & Urban Planning faculty elected Lingqian Hu as the new Department of Urban Planning chair. Hu received her Bachelor of Planning degree from Nanjing University in China and a Master of Planning and doctorate in Policy, Planning, and Development from the University of Southern California.
Adrian Lahoud selected to curate inaugural Sharjah Architecture Triennial
Adrian Lahoud, dean of the School of Architecture at the Royal College of Art in London and a researcher on Arab cities, will curate the new initiative’s flagship event, to be held in November 2019.
