158 finalists announced for second Knight Cities Challenge
The Knight Foundation announced a hefty shortlist of 158 Challenge finalist initiatives for the second Knight Cities Challenge. Applicants had to respond to one question: "What’s your best idea to make cities more successful?"
24H Competition 9th edition winners propose social housing towers for Syrian refugees
The ninth cycle of ideasforward's 24H Competition challenged participants with the interesting task of designing a social housing tower for Syrian refugees. Cradle to Cradle announces winners of second Product Design Challenge
After a successful inaugural run last year, Cradle to Cradle's Product Design Challenge came back for round two. Participants had to create products made of materials that can safely return to nature or be reused for industrial purposes.
Walking in a winter beachfront land: Winners of Toronto’s second Winter Stations competition
And here's another competition that celebrated the conclusion of its second edition. Entrants worldwide proposed lively, winter-resilient temporary installations to be built in the heart of Toronto's Beach communities. Who said outdoor events had to be a summer-only thing? schmidt hammer lassen to design new residential “oasis” block in Aarhus
In one of their latest competition wins, schmidt hammer lassen architects scored the commission to design a new 12,000 m2 housing complex in Aarhus. Featuring abundant greenery and nestled in a quieter location in the heart of the city, the concept of the residential block is based on finding calmness within the storm.

Somehow I missed this (apparently) the first year, but that Toronto Winter Station is totally jocking Warming Huts, right?
