"The Dodge House in West Hollywood was considered one of the most architecturally significant American houses of the 20th century. ... Gill had the radical notion to elevate reinforced concrete to the "architectural importance of stone," but perhaps more important than the house's form — a horizontal box lacking roof overhangs, surface details or other ornaments — was a revolutionary vision of what a modern Southern California house could, and would, be."

Nice article, thanks for posting. There exists the Courtyards now. Also, I recently posted a news item on Esther McCoy's film about the Dodge House. She produced it to save the house from the imminent destruction to build the apartments.
Dodge House records from the Library of Congress.
I thought one of the interesting tidbits was that this was one of the first houses where the cabinet base is recessed.
Orhan,
Will the movie be shown in conjunction with the Esther McCoy exhibit coming up at MAK in September? I'd love to see it...
