I’m extremely concerned that if you leave Gaza in the state it’s currently in, you’ll have another eruption, and violence, and then we’re back in a further catastrophe, so we’ve got to stop that,-Tony Blair — +972
Even a hawk like Tony is worried.
"The scope of destruction in Gaza remains enormous. According to the UN, over 96,000 homes were either damaged or destroyed by Israeli air strikes. The donor states that have pledged to transfer money have yet to do so, re-building is going nowhere, many are still seeking refuge in UNRWA schools and the winter storms have only increased the damage to the homes and neighborhoods that survived. Of course they do, it's part of the plan.
Are you channeling tammuz?
Easy there Jaffe, it's a valid question, and one that should be answered.
"Israel’s Operation Protective Edge, which killed over 2,000 people, including hundreds of children and entire families, lead not only to destruction, but also to a breakdown in Palestinian reconciliation. Fatah and Hamas continue to find reasons not to make reconciliation a reality: Fatah refuses to pay the salaries of Hamas members (partially because Israel has frozen the tax revenues it owes the Palestinian Authority), Hamas is blaming the situation in Gaza on the unity government and attacks on members of Fatah are becoming routine."
Divide and conquer, an ancient, time-tested and proven strategy. Well supported, too.
The humanitarian news whether they are from Palestine or elsewhere have long been published here on Archinect. A search on Palestine, Israel, intifada, etc. would lead to some good pieces and links. tammuz wrote some honest and informed points of views and piercing rebuttals in Archinect, please boycott Israel (its about time!) thread. He and occasionally others including me posted some factual information supported by some eyewitness accounts of the atrocities committed by IDF last summer. tammuz consistently supported the nonviolent BDS Movement when the "operation cast death v. June 2014" was taking place in Gaza.
Ok, now tammuz is channeled properly.
I think they are aware, but the constant de-humanization of the Palestinians in and outside Israel inures them to the suffering they inflict. It's a time tested formula, unfortunately. To be fair though, there's a crazy amount of religious intolerance in the surrounding Islamic countries. The only thing that will help is to move the lot to the USA and show them how having no culture can do wonders about these cultural conflicts. We just randomly shoot each other.
No culture? Are you advocating for some kind of homogeneous culture? You're starting to sound like some kind of leader, of what kind, I'm not so sure, but it sounds like you've might have been booted from an art school.
Sorry, no culture worth killing each other over. When I was in architecture school and traveled to Europe, many Europeans would tell me my country had no culture (while they wore jeans and listened to Madonna). Yes, we have culture, and many kinds, but they are much more elastic and thus not liable to enflame passions to the same extent as ones based on blood lines like Israel. A malleable culture that's not reliant on thousand year old ethnic and tribal identities.
I don't want the world to be homogeneous though. I love the differing cheeses and accents one finds going over a hill or valley in many parts of Europe and I assume other parts of the old world. But the flip side seems to be reasons to hate your neighbor, when they look and feel like you. Not that we don't have our hate mongers, this is a human instinct after all, but we seem to assimilate our minorities better than some of these countries that identify through one religion or ethnicity. How do we have both diversity and respect for our common humanity?
Go Brooklyn!
Maybe Israel would allow more building materials in if the terrorist elected government of Hamas would stop using them to build terror tunnels.
^ you go around looking for posts like this just to spread the hate? It certainly looks like it.
Judging by the single post made by this user, yes. Probably paid a propagandist for the Israeli government.
