Brian MacKay-Lyons wins the RAIC 2015 Gold Medal
The RAIC Gold Medal went to Nova Scotia architect Brian MacKay-Lyons, the founding partner of MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects and the founder of GhostLab. The Gold Medal is the RAIC's highest honor that recognizes an individual's influential body of work. Above: Cliff House
Forty projects shortlisted for the 2015 Mies van der Rohe Award
From 420 nominations, the 2015 Mies van der Rohe Award competition shortlisted 40 projects based throughout Europe. Chicago Prize 2014 results: Imagining Obama’s Presidential Library
Architects and designers got to share their own speculative ideas of the Barack Obama Presidential Library for the 2014 Chicago Prize. In their proposals, participants had to re-examine and challenge the U.S. Presidential Library building typology.
A closer look at “7+7” by Paul Vincent, the Design Marfa Housing Competition winner
The Design Marfa Housing Competition sought the best multi-family housing design solutions for a vacant plot of land at the corner of West First Street and North Kelly Street in the small town of Marfa, Texas. "7+7" by Paul Vincent of Paris had the winning entry.
The winning results of INSPIRATION HOTEL 2014
The latest INSPIRATION HOTEL ideas competition gave architects, designers, and creative types worldwide the chance to design artists' spaces that foster creativity and allow users to focus during the process.
