Archinect's Architecture School Lecture Guide for Fall 2014
Say hello to another edition of Archinect's Get Lectured! As a refresher, we'll be featuring a school's lecture series—and their snazzy posters—for the current term. If you're not doing so already, be sure to keep track of any upcoming lectures you don't want to miss.
Our next poster features the "Experiments in Architecture" lecture series from the MIT Department of Architecture.
"The term experiment today abounds in the texts, titles and biographies of contemporary design practices and institutional lecture series. Traditionally executed in controlled environments, experiments pose a particular problem in the field of architecture where the final test is that of unpredictable inhabitants, environments and politics.
This year, MIT Architecture investigates the experiment: what does it mean to conduct experiments in architecture? How are outcomes evaluated, and what do the related questions, tests, and hypotheses reveal about our field?"
