Garbage truck parking - An initiative by MUA that envisions a possible development of the project area. Located in the Chugureti district, a parking lot occupied by garbage trucks stretches over 3400 square meters.
It takes some experience to see the development potential in undervalued places like these. MUA has a clear vision and a great success story of Fabrika that has re-invented the Chugureti neighborhood. The initiative foresees the transformation of the identified space into an attractive community hub for the neighborhood and the city.
This transformation will have a far-reaching positive impact within the local context, and over time it will become a to-go alternative spot for locals and travelers alike. The transformation of the space covers the whole area, including the original buildings. What will remain unchanged are the dimensions of the building and the urban fabric.
The minimal intervention will take place only to improve the prevailing infrastructure. The development plan envisions the renewal of the old MEP system making the project notably energy and resource-efficient.
The area will be fully adapted for people with disabilities/ The inner courtyard and the buildings, both old and new, will house artists' workshops and studios, a swimming pool, and various recreational areas. The emergence of such a space will support and inspire a new community of artists, creatives, culture enthusiasts, and young entrepreneurs.
