Radiation Therapy: Phase 4

This is Phase 4 of Radiation Therapy.

In this phase, I continued developing the research facility based off of the structure of the slab window.  I transformed the surrounding landscape to be like a crater- this imitates the effects of subduction as well as elevates the public to see the site.

In this phase I started instituting zones.  There is the private research zone, the transition zone of sensors, and the public zone.  The public zone is comprised of gridded trees, which represents the dichotomy of nature and human intervention.  The fact that the trees are planted shows the efforts to restore the area, and the fact that they are gridded lets the public know that they are in a zone that was once deforested (since trees do not naturally grow in a grid fashion).  Beyond the gridded tree zone is the rest of the forest area that has remained intact.

I also started developing living quarters for the scientists, "scars" on the landscape to allow access to the underground waste, and a circulation system through the facility.  This was also the point where I began to reconsider the significance of the tree.
