The design for the Jaya Restaurant, located in Sanxuan, Beijing, consists in the adaptation of a space, divided into two floors, with a total area of 500m2. The proposal seeks inspiration in the "Mobius“ shape, known for its unique characteristics, which could be characterized by a continuous surface with one side and one edge, where a line drawn along the center of the band passes through it twice before returning to the starting point.
The materialization of this concept involves the construction of an element whose configuration "runs" along the space, continuously, suggesting a link between the two floors, assuming various forms through his "journey“. Like the Möbius shape, this element also finds its starting point, “travelling" vertically and horizontally by the floors, walls and furniture, becoming a key element in the definition and organization of the space. The option for the selected materials thrives to enhance the concept that supports and determines the project, assuming the white shape, the "Möbius“ string, as the protagonist in the visual aspect of the restaurant. The materials used suggest a soft, smooth and comfortable environment, with a focus on bright colors and minimalist lines.
