Good books on Construction/ building methods in the U.S.

cipyboy

Transitioning to the local practice here in the DC area from Asia  (Singapore and the Philippines), I noticed quite a few notable differences especially on building methodologies and professional practice.

Which books would be a good reference guide to these things? (building methods and practice)

- i was thinking DK Ching books could be too rhetorical no?

"Graphic Standards" is the go-to resource. Also see also "Architect's handbook of Prof Practice".

I would check out Fundamental of Building Construction: Materials and Methods (Edward Allen and Joseph Iano, 5th edition)
