Thanks pluyaké for the advice.
Yes, infact that does remind of Nouvel though it is S. Maria della Presentazione in Rome. A church designed by Nemesi studio, a roman office.
I couldn't find more pics to post so I sendo you the link to the office website if you guys want to have a look at their work:http://www.nemesistudio.it/
...another project by the same architect...Another hint: the city where both buildings are is Gibellina, a little town in the south of Italy. Ok for now I've said enough...:)
post from 04/03/09 7:37 is s333 (formely of amsterdam, no based in the UK) and i didnt read the text :)

we should clear up the other left unknown and i'll post one soon.
sorry had to submit that quickly before I said the rest. It is the LVR-RömerMuseum in Xanten, Germany and it's actually not technical a museum rather an archaeological park built over a Roman city by Cologne based architects Gatermann + Schossig
sorry Orhan but I don't know the architect of your building. I can't recognize it. Can you tell me please?
Then we need to get back to Holz.box's building...
the architect is frank gehry. danziger house, 1964
the rendering was done by carlos diniz, who did almost all the renderings for los angeles architects.
are more pictures of the kanyon shopping and mixed use project in istanbul.
tabanlioglu architects did all the local designing and carry on for jerde. they also have some great projects of their own.
I enjoy comparing automobile design and manufacture to architecture.
Considering that there were no automobiles in production until just over 100 years ago, while buildings are almost as old as mankind itself, it should be no surprise that cars have "zoomed ahead" (as it were) in the last century, while architecture, which experienced an impressive spurt between 1900 and 1950 -- ". . .You used a LOT of good material there, Mr Lucas !" [Mr Humphries] -- has been taking a bit of a rest for the last few decades.
Name that Architect and Building!!!
haha! wrong thread...well, anyways, can you guys name that skate at least? :)
Thanks pluyaké for the advice.

straight out of a rossi watercolor...

...another project by the same architect...Another hint: the city where both buildings are is Gibellina, a little town in the south of Italy. Ok for now I've said enough...:)

a hint...well it is not Amsterdam...yes it is in the mediterranean boot...
but don't give up with the other architect and building neither
post from 04/03/09 7:37 is s333 (formely of amsterdam, no based in the UK) and i didnt read the text :)

my congratulations p2an, well done!
I'm curious to see if you get the other one, I hope so!
Akin, the architect is Franco Purini, the first building is the Casa del farmacista, the second is the Il Sistema delle Piazze.
off to you p2
that's right pluyaké, congrats...
off to you p2
i think ppl need a hint..ok
its in a very very small country.
is it in the Netherlands? the concrete and glass suggest Wiel Arets, but the play of volumes is more brutalist. Is it a recent building?
mmm is it an Eastern European country?
recent yes, NL no, but the country is pretty close to NL
Luxembourg? Also trying to figure out it's function; is it an industrial or corporate building?
lux yes, function - interesting one. and this gives alot away for the avid googler...water tower and firestation garages
even with avid googling I can't find this one; my best guess is Hermann & Valentiny and Partners if the architect is also from LU
ah never mind, found it. SchemelWirtz architectes - The Water Tower, Leudelange.
next:
monday bump w more images
anyone? it's an archeological museum/shelter. it's in europe.
It's the Romer Museum
sorry had to submit that quickly before I said the rest. It is the LVR-RömerMuseum in Xanten, Germany and it's actually not technical a museum rather an archaeological park built over a Roman city by Cologne based architects Gatermann + Schossig
familiar to the eyes...
bump
I've seen that somewhere...Istanbul?
found it
Kanyon shopping centre - Istanbul by Jerde Partnership
cannot come up with anything, so feel free to step up...
Yeah Randomized it is in Instanbul very nicely done.
archinect is dying...
this isn't reductive enough!!
architect is easy. but who is the renderer?
wait your turn Orhan...
wish i could render like that. not rudolph?
sorry Orhan but I don't know the architect of your building. I can't recognize it. Can you tell me please?
Then we need to get back to Holz.box's building...
holz's building is german. orhan, i've got no clue on the rendering, but was thinking rudolph or sarasota school as well...
Istanbul, eh? It looks like it's in a galaxy far, far away.
the architect is frank gehry. danziger house, 1964
the rendering was done by carlos diniz, who did almost all the renderings for los angeles architects.
are more pictures of the kanyon shopping and mixed use project in istanbul.

holz..i thought it was the crematorium in berlin by schultes frank, but i don't think that is it...
i does feel funebre...
not schultes... but an atelier for a bacon-inspired artist...
you got me holz, and any bacon-related google searches go to swine flu so no help there
project is in dresden by an archi-painter...
funny that looks like a bad picture of Carme Pinos
phew, holz that was rough.
Gerhard Merz - "draft" house in Dresden. Interesting to note it was the subject of an exhibit in Zumthor's museum in Bregenz.
next, some history:
note the evolution of automotive design in contrast with architectural design over the last (60?) years...italian?!
I enjoy comparing automobile design and manufacture to architecture.

I think.
