Hey guys...
I would love to come. I have been in Boston since September and have absolutely no connection to the city yet. All I do is work, studio work and try and get an hour or 2 of sleep now and again.
I live in JP too so anything around that section of town would make it easier for me to come.
Thanks Pixl for bringing this back.
Entasis: sounds like maybe we should pick something that would get you out of JP a little. Are you close to a bus/train so we can try to plan around that?
PXL, I do get out of JP, haha. I work downtown. I guess I meant that I just haven't had ANY time at all to just sit down and have a beer and realize where I am. I guess it doesn't make much sense?!?
I am on the Orange Line, but I would come out where ever.
alright, too last minute to be anything official, but I thought I'd throw it out there:
I'll be at the Otherside tonight from about 9pm onwards drinking pitchers of PBR. I'll be with a bunch of bicycle kids, but don't let that intimidate you! I look a lot like every other person there: a beard, glasses, floppy hair, and 1" wood plugs.
hey pixel, sorry i havent had a chance to respond. It will hard for me to do anything this weekend... but from Monday on I think I should be alright. I am looking forward to catching up and meet the new Boston crew. q
what are people's post Thanksgiving schedules? I'm somewhat apprehensive about just throwing out a date and time because I'm likely to pick it based on my schedule and I work till 10pm during the week...
Next week seems to work for the most people. I need to make sure I'm not pulling evenings in the shop next week but I'm pretty sure I can make that happen on my side of things.
Most people are located in the Harvard Sq. area, right? We can pick a bar thats closer to the majority of showing up, plus the square is a quick ride down Mass from my place.
good question. i'm up for something new, but maybe something good and convenient from different areas? not sure if anyone has any good ideas on that one
Bukowski's in Inman Sq would be cool--I've been wanting to get over there for some time. I don't know about the other places, but I'll take your word for it if you think they're solid.
you guys can meet whenever, just as long as people are still there when I get out. Inman is maybe 15 or 20 minutes for me by bike so I wouldn't till closer to 10:30.
don't make me walk down the hall. Pixel, I love you, but diagram is a hapless fool, and I feel compelled to defend him. regardless, I think 8pm or 9pm sounds good--and we should all still be there by the time ole pee-dubs gets there around 10.30pm.
Official Boston Festivity Time!
I'm a sucker for The Other Side, but that primarily because thats my default location.
I love the Other Side...it's a 5 minute walk from my apartment. Good beer selection too. I'm in...just tell me when
Don't get too caught up in it cadalyst, I might start to hate you...But I guess it is my fault i moved right next to Fenway.
Alright, so we have THEaquino and cadalyst. any other takers? I know FLM is on study abroad this semester... Quilian?
hey pixl,
Depending on what day you all get together I might stop by.
Ive been running around like a madman lately so I cant suggest a day. I will keep my eyes open for when you decide to meet up.
We were close to getting together for a drink / catching up last year, if I can't make out it this time we should do it soon.

I just sent Quilian an email.

I should be in town until the 20th or so.
anyone around/available this week? I have a somewhat normal work schedule this week and wanted to see who else was game.
portfolio/apps pretty much culminating friday (unless it's another- race to south station to overnight by 8 on saturday .... )
I'm definitely game any time after this week though.
Moving back to Mass. from NYC has been less than excitng so far. If anyone has the tip on a good apartment cambridge/boston area let me know!
I'll put in a vote for Shay's (Hvd. Sq. - Best Boddington's place) or People's Republik? They're all good to me though.
I'm gone until the 15th, would love to get together before the semester starts.
I'm up for whatever, where and when?
Next week seems to work for the most people. I need to make sure I'm not pulling evenings in the shop next week but I'm pretty sure I can make that happen on my side of things.

We should only go to bars that serve Narragansett and Endurance Pale Ale...and Whale's Tale for FrankLloydMike.
I'm big on IPA's so don't take my cheap beer habit into consideration.
so is boston all talk? when are we meeting, the semester is starting this week and I will have to once again intern myself in the Gund Hall monastery.
I'm in for whenever...just not for this weekend.
how about wednesday or thursday night? it's a pretty good idea, you must admit
thursday works better for me...
Thursday seems good.
i do admit!!
Venue?
good question. i'm up for something new, but maybe something good and convenient from different areas? not sure if anyone has any good ideas on that one
anything in the inman, central, harvard triangle is always good for me!
From the sound of it, Harvard Sq. or Central Sq. should work for most people.
Although since it is BOSTON festivity time..maybe somewhere in Boston? Bukowski's? The Other Side?
There's Bukowski's and the All Star Sandwhich Bar in Inman (right next to my office), The Thirsty Scholar right down the street...
THEaquino, the triangle IS my Boston. it is sad when the big trip for people in the GSD is to go to Harvard square for a Felipe's dinner.
I like Bukowski's and the All Star Sandwhich Bar (the free oreos did it for me).
Bukowski's in Inman Sq would be cool--I've been wanting to get over there for some time. I don't know about the other places, but I'll take your word for it if you think they're solid.
All Star has better food (and takes the card), but Bukowski's may be a better atmosphere for a function like this.
Shall we Bukowski's?
Bukowski's in Inman Sq on Thursday: time? Pixel you in?
I am...
how abouttttttttttttt, 6? 7?
7 sounds like a good time for a beer.
I work till 10 on Thursday... boo.
maybe we should meet later than to give you a chance to come in?
and its about time other people start to respond to my pestering!
you guys can meet whenever, just as long as people are still there when I get out. Inman is maybe 15 or 20 minutes for me by bike so I wouldn't till closer to 10:30.
god damnit, Pixel - nobody needs the woodshop on Thursday!
you don't know that. don't make me walk down the hall.
but yeah 7 seems good

9 would be good...
let's go at 8:30
myriam would be so proud
