i'm busy then as well. maybe sometime we can have an official boston festivity time entitled:
"Help DiagramMaster Build His 1:200 Scale Model For His Thesis And Then Celebrate By Helping DiagramMaster Build His 1:500 Scale Model, Which Is Smaller, And Then Celebrate By Pounding Schlitz ("Just A Kiss Of The Hops") and Narragansett ("Ew, Urine In My Mouth") On The Roof Of Annex North At The Wentworth Institute Of Technology, 550 Huntington Ave. Boston, MA 02115".
although there are only 5/6 more weeks of school left, so how about an end of semester brunch? finals are probably going to be kicking peopls asses, so how about 7 weeks from now?
yes, let's do something. something soon. weekdays after 6:45 work for me, as do weekends--just not this one or next. but drinks or brunch would be good.
i need my pixel fix now that i'm no longer down the hall from the bearded barron of small toolery.
also, pixel, i went to grasshopper sunday. it was almost as awesome as the time i busted your bandsaw, maybe even better!
I'll be working in the shop all weekend but I'd be more than happy to duck out for an hour or two to meet someone for a drink. can't hang out too much though because I have a deadline I'm working towards.
oh no! I didn't check this over the weekend. how was it? an intimate gathering? I'd like to suggest another brunch. Should we just make a schedule for this--one night or weekend morning a month or something for anyone interested? or is that too constricting? maybe sporadic meetings are best. maybe not. who's to say?
pixel, i'm going to the other side for brunch with a friend from home in less than an hour. you'd do well to rear your ugly head. figuratively, of course, we all hold in high regard your beard and know well its aesthetic qualities.
aw man, I just got in this evening from Canada or I would have joined you. I think I'm going tomorrow with some people from Ghost Lab that are crashing at my place if you (or anyone else) is game.
hey cln1, you still thinking of being in town? what are you up to pixel? and shouldn't quilian be back by now? also: where are the aquino and cadalyst?
I'll be in Boston tomorrow afternoon and evening if anybody's interested in grabbing a beer or three. Send me an email or post here. This will be my first time back there since moving away in 2000.
Sorry for the short notice, but it was a spur-of-the-moment decision.
Unfortunately, cadalyst has relocated from Boston to Baltimore for a job opportunity. the lack of work in Boston (even after several interviews) left a sour taste in my mouth, and the Baltimore market is booming, and the reason for my departure from both Boston and The BAC.
On a lighter note, I'll be back in Boston in November for USGBC Greenbuild Expo. I'm putting off completing my Bachelors Degree (as crazy as that may sound) and i'm looking into LEED accreditation as my next goal. I also had some problems management and faculty at The BAC, so leaving made me happy.
Thats too bad, but I'm glad you're happy with your move. There are always threads with people asking questions about the BAC, so be sure to let them know about the pros and cons of your experience!
Chili Davis will grace Boston with his presence from July 31st until August 3rd. Plans include a trip to the ICA, a Red Sox game, and beer. Send email if any of those three appeal to you.
I need to check this more often. I would have been down for brunch. Hey, Ryan Edwards, aka DiagramMaster, will be in town this weekend... maybe brunch sunday morning?
Yeah, you should check more often. Instead I ended up in JP at that new hat store. A good hat is not cheap, but well worth it.
But brunch, depends if I'll be in town or not, still trying to figure a couple things out. If I'm in the greater Boston region I will attend brunch in my new hat, just for you.
hey cadalyst, how is baltimore? i've only been there once, and was surprised by how nice of a city it was (from the little i saw). plus, i love crab, so that was a natural fit. how is the architecture field down there?
I left Baltimore strictly because my firm would not give me more responsibility, for the fact that I only hold an AA in Arch and a few certificates. I went to Boston to complete the 4yr BArch, but the job market sucked, even with my several years experience. The previous Baltimore firm, which I kept in touch with three Project Mgr's, I actually was talking to one, and brought up job opportunities, and within 1 week the principle make me an offer via phone. I flew pack, negotiated, did some paperwork, and it financially made sense.
Boston - $1300/mo & no job, and the burden of school.
Baltimore - $600/mo & financial freedom, workin 9-5, and not having studio looming over my head. Found passion in photography, and realised maybe I dont need to be an Architect to be happy.
Official Boston Festivity Time!

Or not, also cool.
roof access is alarmed, my friend!
lets do this
do what? archinect meet-up? when? soon?

although there are only 5/6 more weeks of school left, so how about an end of semester brunch? finals are probably going to be kicking peopls asses, so how about 7 weeks from now?
or should we be spontaneous and sooner
?
alright, everyone should be done with their spring semester seeing that our summer semester started this week. so lets do this!

I need a drink badly... this end of semester has kicked my ass, but I am leaving town on Monday for a month, anyone up for a meeting this weekend?
I'll be working in the shop all weekend but I'd be more than happy to duck out for an hour or two to meet someone for a drink. can't hang out too much though because I have a deadline I'm working towards.

I can do that, time?

I'll be gone from June 14th-28th, but besides that I'm game.
it was pretty intimate, 2 bros having brunch...
on a patio, sharing our thoughts on politics, design, Boston, etc.
sounds like fun. speaking of politics, congratulations Quilian--i'd say the O-man has this thing wrapped up nicely. hope to see you once you get back.
or maybe a grasshopper archinect dinner? i'm hungry and need some sweet nect(ar)!
as of tomorrow my evenings are free, and I'm always game for some G-Hop!

I might be in the city either this friday or next friday if your interested in grabbing a beer - would be early afternoon though...

Mike,
I will not be in town tomorrow - most likely next friday

I should be back for Greenbuild in Nov. though, save a Stella for me...

new hat, same great beard, I hope. keep me posted on this weekend, big dog!
it's so hard to get Stella in Baltimore :/
So are we on for Saturday?
errr... Sunday
yes. let's. is this too late? Ryan Edwards and I are planning on going to the Other Side! Will you be there? What is a good time?!

can anyone get together around the weekend of october 18 for beers/brunch?
I'm bringing this back!
There's gotta be plenty of new people to Boston since we last did this, so lets have another go at it!
count me in whenever this goes down!
Damn I was just around all last week, left yesterday. Should have bumped the thread then.
*bump*
