Unbuilt Chicago

Has anyone been to this exhibit? Should I make the time on my next trip to Chicago?

It's a good exhibit - some recent stuff has been implanted into the body of work, and should be taken with a grain of salt. Chicago is notorious for self promoting Architects who seem to lump themselves with a better bunch.....The early works are inspiring.

I'll consider myself warned, thanks.

There's a nice little Similarly-titled book they sell in the Gift Shop - pick one up for 10 bucks on your way out....it has illustrations of all of the work on display. Go on a Tuesday and it's free (the installation, not the book)
Enjoy this beautiful city!

What exactly do you mean by self-promoting architects. I'm no stranger to Chicago and their architectural scene. Aside from it being a "bigger" scene than other places I've lived I don't really see how they are more notorious for self promotion.
