Fiterman Hall, Borough of Manhattan Community College, City University of New York

The original Fiterman Hall, the southernmost component of the BMCC campus, was severely damaged in the September 11 terrorist attacks, and this project included the environmental remediation and deconstruction of the damaged structure. The major design challenge was accommodating a vertical campus on a relatively small site. With 15 levels of program space, the new facility houses classrooms, computer labs, faculty and administrative offices, student lounges and study areas, a conference center, and a café and art gallery on the ground floor.
