The four-story 108,000 SF research building is jointly used by Health Science Center and IFAS, providing an adaptive and enduring collaborative network of disciplines focused on scientific, social, educational, informatics, diagnostics and surveillance issues related to vigilance and control of newly emerging pathogens. This facility consists of highly functional and flexible BSL2, BSL3, BSL3 enhanced research labs, offices and support services. Program components also include a BSL-3 greenhouse and support areas, bioinformatics space and other core facilities to support environmental and human toxicology and plant science research. Project achieved USGBC LEED-NC v2.2 Gold in 2010.
