I think that, once this year's projects are over, people should get experimental with these school blogs. Let's see summer trips, non-uni-related artworks and whatever else everyone gets up to when the stress is off.
In the meantime, abstract screengrabs of computer-modelling will don nicely.
I'm thinking of applying to Cornell's Architecture Undergraduate program next year. Could you describe what the admission officers generally look for in a prospective student? What did you include in your portfolio? Do you have any samples online? What kind of statistics did you have when you applied?
finally, how is the architecture school?
a little bit about myself...
i'm currently a junior at chaparral high school. In the field of art/architecture, i've worked for an arch firm, attended the FLW Taliesin West program, am going to teach there this summer, am working on my portfolio at this instant, am going to attend the Cornell summer arch program this summer, was given the honor of showcasing my arch models in Taliesin West, and have had previous instruction in CAD. I've just finished AP Calc and Physics H and will be attending AP Art Portfolio next year. I'm currently working on my portfolio. DO you have any samples of your portfolio online? I'm a black belt in karate and have played the piano for 9 years but I guess these factors are not as significant in arch admissions.
My grades are in the A range although they dropped sophmore year because I transferred to a harder school. However, they have improved significantly over the past years. Do you think this will be detrimental to my chances considering the high level of competition in arch admissions? I have a 3.8 GPA and am ranked 7%. I hope those scores won't be harmful in my chances of getting into Cornell.
But anyways, sorry for asking you so many questions. I'm just very interested in Cornell Architecture and would just like to hear what your views were on admissions and the school itself. I hear that the school admission is incredibly competitive. My email address is justin_hui@hotmail.com
Thank you so much for reading this and I wish you best of luck rest of the way!
Many thanks,
Justin
