Well, I think most of you have already heard the story of a Dutch boy who saw a leaking whole in a dyke, put his finger there to stop the leakage and saved the country. It might only be a tale, but small wholes in dykes can cause a lot of trouble here. Check this image out from a broken dyke around here during this summer.

The finger in the dyke is an American story, theoretically impossible. There's a statue of the boy in Harlingen, Friesland.
