Borja Ferrater, co-founder of OAB (Office of Architecture in Barcelona) presented a public lecture in Knowlton Hall’s Gui Auditorium as a part of this year's Atmosphere's lecture series.
Ferrater's lecture focused on the firm's work since their start in 2006. OAB has an impressive range and breadth of projects in such a short time. Examples of the firms work include the AA House in Barcelona ,Spain which explores different ways of folding to manipulate the silhouette of the building, create openings, and explore implications of light. The house started in plan as an orthogonal system. The diagonals of the system were overlaid and manipulated to create skylights, roof expansions, and an artificial topography.

Ferrater graduated from the International University of Catalonia (UIC) where he taught design studio. Also in 2006, he was a guest professor in the workshop “Emotional City” directed by British architects Sergison & Bates. In 2010 he received his Masters in Biodigital Architecture.
