Artisan Residence

This was the first project in my Design Studio II course at SVA. The project was limited to 600 square feet. We drew the location and type of artisan at random and had to develop a client story to base our design concept and development from. My location was Phoenix, Arizona and my artisan was a toy maker! I chose my father as my client so I could use realistic personality to guide my project. I decided that I wanted to take a sustainable approach to this design with the goal of "net zero" energy. The use of solar panels, a large amount of natural light, natural ventilation, energy star double insulated windows, and many other interior aspects contribute to a more sustainable approach to this design.
