This was a study of the construction and deconstruction of a cube. My concept came from the first image, which captivated me as a study model. The triangle looks as though it is pushing the piece above it up, so my series of 7 cubes represented “geometric motion” as the concept. These cubes folded, unfolded, and moved around one another so that they looked like they were coming together and breaking apart in geometric shapes. The construction of the cube begins small, square, and basic. Then moves into a more complex combination of multiple squares and triangles. From the full 6”x6” cube, the pieces slowly break apart with the same intricate composition that breaks down into a simple and small triangle form.
