The original structure for this project is a 2 story-building from the 1960’s located in a central area of the City of Cordoba; previously used as retail, parking and a residence.
The remodel included a complete new level with different sizes and types of bedrooms with private or shared bathrooms. The patio below was maintained for natural ventilation and lighting, becoming the heart of the building. Gypsum board partition walls and a metal roof system were chosen to minimize the load of the addition. The use of color, graffiti wall and social areas with outdoor spaces like terraces and a barbeque patio are key elements to reflect a young style of the building.
The challenges of this project were: Efficient layout with most number of bedrooms possible,
use of existing bearing structure and meet the codes of the City and the Tourism Agency.
