New home located on a hillside lot overlooking a nearby lake and the sierras of Cordoba. The L-shaped and vertically stepped design emerged as a solution to reduce visual impact of the massing and minimize excavation. It allows an easy division between social and private areas; takes advantage of the North and East orientation to minimize year-round energy consumption and fluidly connects indoor / outdoor spaces through terraces and balconies. The stone walls ground the house while thin overhangs are both functional and formal. The house was designed to be constructed in two phases, allowing the client to start with a 2-bedroom house and add an additional level later for the Master Suite.
