Terracotta House

This residence, characterized by an all-encompassing teracotta theme, embodies the warm embrace of tropical living. From the exterior facades to the interior spaces, every detail is drenched in shades of terracotta. The dominant use of terracotta bricks for the façade is a testament to a design that flawlessly blends aesthetics with functionality.

Situated in a semi-urban area, not far from the city, this residence needed to harmonize with the surrounding densely populated neighborhoods. The client's wish for a strong tropical theme in a complete renovation of a standard 6x12 plot with an inadequate structure for a second floor presented its own set of challenges.

Nestled on a 6x12-meter plot, this house boasts a generous carport in the front, measuring 6 meters by 5 meters, accommodating two cars comfortably. A louvre (krepyak) gate spanning the width of the house leads you into a spacious living room, kitchen, and dining area, all seamlessly connected within a wide, open space. The red terracotta floor tiles underfoot resonate with the overall terracotta concept, as do the walls, which are elegantly painted in matching hues.

The wide carport features a canopy with a hollow frame dominated by climbing plants, creating a living canopy. Pendant lights with warm LED bulbs further intensify the tropical ambiance, making every arrival and departure feel like a journey into a serene oasis.

One of the key design principles was to create a seamless transition between the indoor and outdoor spaces. The interior exudes a warm, tropical atmosphere, making you feel like you're outdoors, complete with outdoor furniture. The rear of the house opens up to a small backyard, serving as a utility space for laundry and drying, with a small bathroom tucked neatly under the staircase.

Ascending to the upper floor reveals two bedrooms and a master bathroom with an en suite. The second level essentially comprises private spaces, ensuring a tranquil retreat from the world below. The lower level, in alignment with the client's preference for creating a welcoming and spacious area on the first floor, offers semi-public spaces.

The essence of this house is its warm tropical character, and we've brought this to life through a full teracotta concept. Every aspect, from brick materials to floorings, carport pavers, and wall colors, resonates with the rich terracotta palette.
