HaiKou Tower

The project is in Hainan Island, China. The tower is a 480m high-rise building. I attended this international competition as the main member. We designed low energy consumption super high-rise buildings with measures of various energy conservation. We adopt local overhangs and inclined curtain walls to obtain a good sunshade effect. Placing the solar panel in a special place, the solar panel on each floor is able to meet the needs of the quantity of electricity on this floor, and the salient part can also collect rainwater for flushing toilets. And the jagged profile of the outer wall, informed an abstract effect of the building, just like a coconut tree trunk. The steel cylinder concrete structure is adopted in the structure, and the strength of the tower is strengthened in the subsection. According to the calculation, the whole plane only needs eight pillars to support it, which provides the possibility for the free plane layout and obtains a good visual field.
