Guangzhou Museum

  1. My responsibilities for this museum design project are massing and elevation generation and program diagrams layout. The museum's showrooms require a huge volume, while the surrounding cities have traditional contexts and textures. The division and folding of the massing reduces the oppressive sense of the building to the surrounding urban environment, while the low exhibition hall contrasts strongly with the high entrance foyer part, the roof of the exhibition hall slides down to the lake, facing nature with a modest posture, at the same time, the entrance with a giant window, creates a conversation between modern museum building with an ancient pagoda in nearby.
