Project Statement: Small Lot, Big Idea - Redefining Urban Living in Limited Space
Design Concept Overview This innovative project redefines urban space through two intersecting architectural volumes: a horizontal volume that aligns with the existing street edge, and a vertical volume that optimizes the Floor Area Ratio (F.A.R.), enhancing both city views and spatial efficiency. Together, these volumes create a dynamic balance between art and engineering, seamlessly integrating landscape and infrastructure. This architectural composition transforms the site's spatial limitations into an expansive experience, blending interior and exterior spaces to foster a harmonious connection between the built environment and its surroundings.
Site Experience and Spatial Flow From the moment visitors arrive on-site, the design reveals its intent to maximize spatial perception. The Entry Garden, Lobby, and Communal Garden are interconnected, presenting an uninterrupted flow that visually expands the site, creating a sense of openness. This integration continues across the upper floors, where strategic spatial compositions reinforce a cohesive visual and physical journey through the property.
Innovative Design Strategy Given the unique constraints of the lot size and shape; the design team's approach centered on adaptable solutions that address:
This "Small Lot, Big Idea" project challenges traditional approaches to urban infill, creating a forward-thinking model of urban living where thoughtful design transforms limited space into expansive, engaging experiences for residents and the broader community.
