Park Hyatt retained GKV Architects to renovate and restore a historic building in Istanbul, which previously housed a large Turkish bank. The master plan called to fully restore the facade of the landmarked structure and replace all windows while maintaining all original details. In order to transition the building into a five star hotel, a complete interior renovation was planned. What was once the parking entrance and garage was redesigned to be the hotel's main lobby and spa. The ground floor retail spaces were redesigned into two luxury shops and a steakhouse restaurant. The roof space above the lobby became a landscaped terrace outfitted with a pool, outdoor café and bar. The remainder of the floors were converted to 90 luxurious hotel rooms.
