GKV Architects were hired to design the Queens offices for The New York Foundling in 2013.  The non-profit organization offers many programs to aid children and families in need.  The Queens site serves as the headquarters for outer-borough operations.  The program includes 200 workstations, two training rooms, ten conference rooms and a 30-person boardroom.  Additional spaces include a library, private touchdown spaces for quiet working and treatment rooms that allow for private family counseling.  For all open office areas, the desired industrial look was realized with the use of exposed ductwork and utilites, intentionally referencing the history of the building.  For the more private meeting spaces, ceilings were installed for acoustic reasons.
