After collaborating on several projects, the New York Foundling asked GKV to redesign the lobby for their headquarters, located on the Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan.  The non-profit organization was founded as a home for abandoned children and today offers many programs to aid children and families in need.  As the organization's front door, the lobby needed to have a design that was both welcoming and professional.  This building serves as the base of operations for the organization, and the 27 year old lobby was in desperate need of a remodel.  Occupying the top seven floors of the building are the residential and administrative programs that have been the core of the charity since its creation.  A combination of materials such as stainless steel and walnut paneling make the renovated lobby modern and inviting.  New illuminated signage facing the Avenue of the Americas enhances the New York Foundling's presence in the busy Chelsea neighborhood.
