Abstract

The primary purpose of a library is to store and exchange information through a medium to the user. A space where huge amount of information is stored

and the user can absorb and exchange information. Considering the books getting replaced by kindles and screens increasingly day by day, it can be easily assumed that the future of the library will not consist of any books. The user will obtain knowledge through different means more sort of virtual and interactive medium. The question is can a library exist without the presence of any books in it?

This library focuses on implementing newly possible technologies on information searching and display. Starting from the future library, the users personal data, the library would obtain personal information through out the bio-metric sensing machines, afterwards the result of searching will be more precise and will be available to respond the physical reactions with the help of new technologies.

Form & Materiality

The form is derived by adapting through a hexagonal shape. Since, the library as no books involved, we discourage the natural light entering directly into the building. This is why there has been a tinted glass and windows used through out. There are textured patterns on certain parts of the windows for controlled light entering in the necessary spaces of the building. The primary material that has been used for the skin of the structure is marble and soft textured stone.There is a glass core present in the center of the building that acts as a cerebrum of the entire library.
