The effort to resolve the apparent contradictions in this project required us to have an active investigation of different cultures, shared memories, peaceful imaginary and individual discovery. Near Marrakech, the Green Residence is composed of accommodations including private residences, apartments, and hotel rooms and suites. To serve these residents, there will also be a commercial centre, a clinic, a sporting facility, a health center, and golf and equestrian facilities. The nature of this development calls for isolated, luxurious houses surrounded by nature and golf/sporting activities dominated by views of the Atlas mountains. Like Adriane’s thread, our guide through the labrynth, the grand Axis drawing inspiration from architectural wonders of Islamic culture serves as the inspiration for our concept. Our project proposes the creation of a grand pedestrian axis punctuated by parks, fountains, resting areas and events that connect the two main entrances of the project with the Atlas Mountains in the background. For the golf course, given the limited land available, we have proposed a nine hole executive course, driving range and practice greens.
