AIG/Lincoln selected Goring&Straja Studio for a new development, the ALFA Business logistic Park. This ambitious project consists of the adaptive reuse of the Arese Alfa Romeo factory and will result in the creation of roughly 287.000 sq.m. of new logistic facilities and 50.000 sq.m. of office space. Located between Milan, the new Milan Exhibition centre and Malpensa International Airport, occupies an important position in northern Italy. The project will have all the modern amenities expected in a development of this calibre, including an internal petrol station, secure long term parking, a service area for 400 trucks, parking spaces for 2000 cars, 10.5m clear building heights, a 18m truck apron, cross docking configurations, wide column grids and mezzanine office space.
The design team has been involved since 2002, starting with the master planning therough the supervision of all construction. As directed by city requirements, the client is now developing various new services and infrastructure for the city. Because of this, Goring&Straja Studio and PLG are now in charge of the design and construction of the new Arese library, underground parking and city square, and the Arese Multimedia Center.
