IV. Of Light and Shadow
Metaphysics and spirituality of architecture is driven by light and shadow. They are shaped by solids and voids with special features of opacity, transparency and translucency.
Sometimes material of an art work is the light itself as it’s been seen in James Turrell's Projects [For instance in Mendora Stoppage].
Some of amazing James Turrell's Projects in California and Texas:

In some cases the sun rays form a totality, for instance when it enlightens a tree, sun rays pass through voids of a tree but not all leaves are clear but the tree itself is! [silhouette of trees] [It means even if you are not able to discern each individual leaf but you can recognize that the object is a tree.]

Other important things to consider while designing are: the sun angle known as “altitude angle” and double shading which occurs when bunch of trees are in a row and their shadows overlap,

As the world is developing its way of communication, we, the architects need to be more curious on stuff around us! Rise of different philosophies around the globe, rapid growth in our awareness, transformation of communication types and many more items around are leading the ARCHITECTURE to an absolute new brand of its roots! It is time to ask: are we, the TRANSFORMERS or are we the results of TRANSFORMATIONS of GENIUS LOCUS (the protective spirit of a place)?
