'A'ali'i is the latest project in the Ward Village master plan for the developer Howard Hughes Corporation. Like all of the projects in the masterplan, this project is a 420 foot mixed use residential tower with retail at the ground level at the base of a seven story parking garage.
What sets 'A'ali'i apart is its small apartment concept. In Hawaii, apartment sizes are extravagant. 'A'ali'i is compact. To make the apartments as compact and as livable as possible, we used Resource Furniture,Clei Furniture, and Rotet to help create the most efficient and luxurious apartments possible.
My role in the project as Senior Architect is to guide the exterior aesthetic, construcibility, and code compliance of the project. This role requires that I design the building constantly coordinating with a consultant team of 20 independent consultants, our clients, and the regulatory agencies having jurisdiction.
