The Project
“This design, located in the Showplace Square district of San Francisco, is a mixeduse development of retail space and 224 dwelling units, a mixture of 170 affordable and 54 market-rate-ownership units.
Affordable and market-rate units share all the amenities, including a dramatic doubleheight cafe, retail that wraps to hide the garage, and an art-lined open green space with a path for walkers and cyclists.”
My Role
888 7th Street was my first project at David Baker + Partners and my first introduction to Autodesk Revit. My role was primarily as a CAD drafter, but I also helped planning the interiors of the
units, design the common areas, and perform code analysis on the project. But personally, I saw my role on this as a sponge to learn as much about the type of multifamily mixed-use project
type as I could. And although I had roles with more responsibility on larger residential projects, this was the first residential project where I had to function in all roles that an architect has to do when there are only two people on the team.
