Vertical forests to decrease the land use. A planning experimentation for Bari into Sant'Anna District.

The vertical forest plan for Bari is a way of thinking to achieve a full eco-friendly building complex: that means planning not only the buildings but also a complex system to reduce environmental impacts.
Starting from the general site planning, this work tends to preserve all the natural areas using all the slopes, moreover there are a lot of open spaces with urban vegetables gardens.
The vertical forest is a 7 towers system with a final height of 60 m, every tower is connected with nearby ones on the first and last storeys with glazed structures.
The building complex holds in the ground and first levels public and commercial spaces: walking on the ground level you can notice the strong porosity of structures, while at the first level there is a big commercial gallery with several spaces.
There are houses for 13 storeys in a row with different dimensions; on balconies you can notice the vertical forest with many overlapped floors with small local trees, that are putted on vases.
At the three last storeys there is the vertical farm with indoor cultivations: with hydroponic systems I can realize a bigger production than which can be made on nearby sites.
The building complex fits all the needs of the site such as the right amount of house and public spaces, moreover I can create a system to decrease environmental impacts such as the loss of trees and cultivation areas.
