Hospice Facility Plan

This project concerns a multipurpose building composed by two underground levels and four storeys.
The functional programme divides the building in 4 layers: the two underground levels hold services and parking lots; in the ground floor there is the administration and a daytime centre; in the second level we have a rooms for physical therapies, moreover the last two storeys hold the hospice.
The structure is planned as a C-shaped building with a central courtyard nearby a XIX century villa.
Walking through the courtyard you can reach the small church attached to the hospice: the church structure is made with reinforced concrete but all the facades are enclosed with a vertical plants system.
The interior design of the hospice is planned as a modular system, of course also the structural system is made as modular one.
The roof is planned as an alzheimer garden, so there is a closed path with several thematic zones: an open area for lunch, an aromatic garden, a vegetables garden where patients can cultivate soil, the pet therapy zone where there are little bunnies, the bowls area and a pond.
Integrated with the building there is a solar system to produce green energy: there are both thermal panels and photovoltaic ones mounted on a steel frame structure useful to supply the energy demand of the entire building.
