Claire's Playhouse

Claire's Playhouse

Claire's Playhouse was designed as a special functional art structure in which to have fun. The shape was developed by multiplying the side frame silhouettes of a conventional house shape, and rotating them into opposing fan shapes. In this way, a new structure is grown from the original. The sides are open through the fan shapes creating unexpected views of the surrounding landscape. the structure is made of painted sustainably grown wood, and can be placed anywhere without a foundation. Claire's Playhouse is the first in a series of small structures that use this system of altering parts of a conventional house shape, in order to generate unexpected forms that may suggest new ways in which to interact with the built environment.
